Welcome!

Established in 1880, the Plattsmouth Volunteer Fire Department has been serving our area for 125 years. In 1968, the Rescue Department was added to greater fulfill the needs of our community. Located in Historic Downtown Plattsmouth, our current station houses both Fire and Rescue departments along with the rural fire department. Responding to approximately 700 calls per year, the 60 or so dedicated volunteers work to protect the city of Plattsmouth and surrounding areas as emergency medical technicians, firefighters, or both.

Men and women of all ages and from all backgrounds form the backbone of our departments, each person contributing an average of 500 plus hours per year responding to emergencies, participating in community events and fundraising efforts, seeing to the administrative needs of the department, and countless other tasks. Thanks to citizen participation and community support, the Plattsmouth Volunteer Fire and Rescue Departments look forward to serving our expanding city well into the next 125 years.
