On September 3, the City of Plattsmouth terminated the Water Emergency that began on March 20, 2019. City Administrator Erv Portis announced that the water treatment plant passed the final tests and inspections and began producing water.
While water quality is good, various components of the plant are operating without redundancy. One of the five wells is currently operational. Two of four pumps are turning. It may be several months before a backup generator can be installed.
"The City of Plattsmouth thanks Cass County Rural Water District #1, its Board of Directors, and the General Manager for being there when we needed you. Most important, Plattsmouth thanks its users and customers for their patience during this very difficult time."
